Moon Valley

This 25 kilometer long area of extreme erosion was interestingly made from the same substance that the mountains in the background were made of. The difference is that those were protected by plant growth. These features are therefore shrinking each year during the rainy season.

Just a few plants on the very top of this soire keeps it from eroding further

The friendly and caring guide

Leaving Moon Valley
This tunnel was so low over head that the guide came rushing up to tell everyone on the top deck to please sit down. There was but a foot of overhead clearance.

It irked the rich, so it was said, that poor natives, who have lived here for generations, have their hovels right next to the mansions of the wealthy, but the laws were written to protect those people's rights.

This park seemed to be mainly for kids and young people. There was playground equipment all around.

The riverside park, people were just arriving and setting up for picknicks and such. Sadly, the nearly dry river was quite smelly for some reason, but that seemed to not bother the visitors.

This is the housing compound for the diplomats and their families. There is a club and this is the school for their kids. A golf course is across from here.

Graffiti protest art is alive and well in still restless Bolivia

In the upper picture, you can see two of three cable car systems in La Paz, the yellow one and the green one. Later I rode the red line.
